It has been our experience that this length of phone consultation with Dr. Uszler has been effective in assisting patients, or their parents or family members, to sort through the factors involved in their care up to this point. Consultations are usually focused on what present questions need to be addressed regarding the patient's brain function, and what are reasonable therapy considerations and options in relation to that.

An important factor is clarifying the role of brain SPECT imaging in regard to the present neurological status and any subsequent therapies. Frequently this revolves around the timing of when to do baseline and follow-up brain SPECT imaging to aid in following the course of any therapy.

Consultation can also involve discussion of the application of brain SPECT findings in relation to possible insurance reimbursement issues for any course of therapy that has been monitored by brain SPECT imaging.
