Brain SPECT imaging
Single photon emission computed tomography, brain SPECT, is a recognized, scientifically valid, physiological, evaluative test of brain blood flow and related regional brain cell function. These imaging scans before and after a course of therapy can be used to depict brain regions' response to therapy.
Your brain SPECT scan at Dr. Uszler's private clinic involves
- state-of-the-art triple-headed scanner
- minimally invasive intravenous injection of brain scan tracer while you are in a resting state. Alternatively the injection can occur while you are engaged in a computer-based mental "activation" activity
- approximately twenty minutes of scan time, during which the scanner revolves only around your head
- no allergic reactions
- objective, quantitative analysis of your scan by Dr. Uszler, with a report to your referring healthcare provider
- the benefit of his more than ten years experience of brain SPECT imaging and quantitative analysis in both adults and children
